I had lots of fun in the art room this past week with my Kindergarten class. After reading this delightful and colorful book by Bill Martin, Jr we discussed caterpillars , fall leaves, and color.
I gave each child a square of green construction paper and had them draw a leaf. As they were finishing cutting them out, I punched several holes in their leaves where the caterpillar nibbled through. This was glued to the center of their large, white paper. Now for the fun part...draw 10 caterpillars, use your finger as a template, and color in with crayons.
They had a great time and we had some VERY CREATIVE caterpillars.
