Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!
This week in the art room everyone was working on a pumpkin project. This lesson required kindergardeners to learn how to draw and paint a pumpkin. The following week the students cut smiling mouths and lots of teeth from black and white paper. These were some of the most original looking smiling pumpkins I have seen, including "Sir Laughs Alot". We took what can be a scary theme and made it fun, silly, even hilarious. It made me think about how children's lives can sometimes be scary. Sometimes our adult lives are scary, too. I encourage you to let God take the fear and sadness and turn it into joy and dancing!
